Guidelines for Handling 3D-Printed Flow Arts Props Made from TPU
(German only – summary) Staffsmith's props are 3D-printed from TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), a material that is flexible, grippy, and durable. This article gives care guidelines: TPU deforms elastically under normal use (drops are fine), but sustained or excessive pressure can cause permanent (plastic) deformation, so avoid storing props in compressed positions. Heat is a concern – TPU softens noticeably around 60–80 °C, so props should never be left in a hot car, especially on the dashboard. Because 3D printing builds objects layer by layer, the bond between layers is weaker than the material within a layer, so heavy bending against the print direction or concentrated stress on thin, delicate areas should be avoided. Each print is individually inspected before shipping, and minor visual imperfections are a normal part of the manual printing process. Staffsmith backs every print with a 1-year warranty when used and stored properly.
